THUNDER BAY – The Ontario Provincial Police are searching for a missing boater.

The fifty-year-old man was reported missing to the OPP on Saturday after did not return to his camp after going boating on the Kaministiqua River near Kakabeka Falls.

The OPP’s emergency response team and marine unit officers are searching the area.

The missing man’s family found the boat on Sunday evening in the Kakabeka Falls area.

The OPP report that “Divers from the OPP’s underwater search and recovery unit were at the scene Monday”.

The search effort is continuing.
