Three Charged Over Aircraft Fight in Attawapiskat

nan NAPs Nishnawbe-Aski Police Unit NAPSATTAWAPISKAT – Crime News – On May 20, 2014, Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service Attawapiskat Detachment received a complaint about a fight taking place on board an aircraft in flight.
Police attended at the Attawapiskat airport and commenced an investigation upon arrival of Air Tindi Flight 803.

As a result of that investigation, several charges had been laid against three people, two being young persons who cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Twenty-seven (27) year-old Cindy Okimaw of Attawapiskat, Ontario has been charged with Endangering Safety of Aircraft under the Criminal Code of Canada.

A youth was charged with Endangering Safety of Aircraft and two counts of Assault under the Criminal Code of Canada.

A second youth was charged with Endangering Safety of Aircraft and one count of Assault under the Criminal Code of Canada.

All three accused were released on conditions and will appear in court in Attawapiskat on August 27, 2014.

Attawapiskat First Nation is located approximately 630 kilometres north of Timmins, Ontario.
