EXETER, N.H. -Sports – The Thunder Bay Sportop midget AA Queens will be in Exeter, N.H. this weekend to take part in the 2 Nations Tier 1 Elite Showcase event featuring some of the top female hockey programs from across the U.S. and Canada.

This high-profile showcase will see Thunder Bay taking to the ice in their opener early Friday afternoon at 12:15 p.m. when they take on the Shaftesbury Prep Titans of Winnipeg.

They last met the Titans back on Sept. 8 in the semifinal of the Stoney Creek Sabres Showcase in Hamilton.

In that contest Shaftesbury came away victorious with a 2-1 decision that required a shootout before it was decided, with the Titans eventually going on to win the championship.

A second game Friday in New Hampshire has the Queens meeting the Dallas Stars at 7:55 p.m.

Two more tilts are on the slate for the squad Saturday as they’ll take on the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite at 10 a.m. followed by a 6:40 p.m. encounter vs. the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals.

The squad then rounds out competition Sunday at 8 a.m. against Team Detroit from Michigan to wrap-up play at the Showcase, which is expected to draw a large contingent of NCAA women’s hockey programs in attendance scouting future U.S. collegiate recruits.
