Ben Thompson Wins 2013 Iron Label Strongman

THUNDER BAY – Sports – Ben Thompson is the 2013 Iron Label Strongman Champion. The competition was held in Toronto on May 31 and June 1 2013. The events consisted of an Axle Deadlift of 500lbs, a 300lbs Atlas Stone for repetitions, a metal Log press overhead for maximum weight and a 125lb Circus Dumbell press for repetitions. Thompson won 2 of 4 events on his way to 1st place in the overall standing. This event provided some momentum, as Thompson will next be competing at the 2013 Ontario’s Strongest Man competition held here in Thunder Bay on the CLE grounds on June 22nd.

“This is a great start to the season for me,” states Thompson. “I have really been pushing my training so I can compete with elite competitors and my performance from this weekend puts me one step closer to that.”

“Next contest is Ontario’s strongest man (provincial championships ) June 22nd “.

“I will not be at Motors and Muscles in August , but I will be in Thunder Bay’s Strongest Man at the Wayland July 14th.

Strongman Competitions and Thunder Bay

Thunder Bay is a hotbed of strongmen, and women with a growing number of champions coming from the city.

This July at the Wayland Thunder Bay’s Strongest Man competition will be held on July 13th and 14th. The 3rd Annual Thunder Bays Strongest Man Competition/ Arm Wrestling Tournament/ Best Legs In The Bay Contest is in support of Camp Quality.

Come out and watch our strongest men and womenlift crazy weights and raise mad cash for a great cause.

As always there will be a ton of fun for the whole family including our StrongKid Challenge and Womens Strength Test- All Top Placing Competitors will recieve Trophies, Cash and Prizes along with All The Glory! ALL money raised will be given to the Wonderful People at Camp Quality. The funds will help to provide a week of carefree fun at camp to children that have been diagnosed with forms of cancer.
