Sault Ste Marie PoliceSAULT STE MARIE – Sault Ste Marie Police report that a 14 year old male was arrested by members of the Street Team last night and charged with assault, possession of a narcotic and breaching conditions of his probation. It is alleged the youth pushed his mother, causing her to fall. While the Police were investigating this complaint they located a small amount of marihuana in the accused’s possession.

He was also on conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour as well as not to possess any narcotics. He will be appearing in Bail Court later this morning.

A cash box containing an undisclosed amount of money was stolen from the front lobby area of the Howard Johnson Hotel overnight.

Break and Enters/Other Property Crimes:  (Thefts, Mischief Reports, etc.):

Two vehicles were entered in the Peno Road area.  A small amount of change was taken.

Nine traffic accidents reported to police.  Police are asking drivers to reduce speeds and be more attentative while driving.  The nice weather seems to have drivers, operating their vehicles at higher speeds.
