THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Superior North NDP will be holding a nomination meeting to select their candidate for the next provincial election on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Prince Arthur Hotel, 17 Cumberland Street North. The meeting will be held at 7:00PM.

NDP Nomination Meeting Thursday

Earlier in the day, Andrew Foulds will be holding a press conference. Foulds will be reading a statement, and then taking questions from the media at the event he is holding at the North End Recreation Centre.

Is Andrew Foulds headed to provincial politics?

There is speculation that Foulds could be announcing his decision on seeking the NDP nomination. Foulds currently sits on Thunder Bay City Council representing the Current River ward.

Foulds would be a voice for youth and has a proven track record from his two winning civic campaigns. He would be facing the enthusiastic and experienced Michael Gravelle from the Liberals. The Ontario Progressive Conservatives have not made moves so far toward a candidate selection / nomination contest.

In the last provincial election the Progressive Conservative banner was carried by Anthony LeBlanc, and the New Democrats were represented by Steve Mantis.

The Ontario Liberals presented their Speech from the Throne on Tuesday. Today the Ontario PC leader declared that the Ontario Progressive Conservatives will seek to bring down the Wynne Government.

The New Democratic Party Leader Andrea Horwath was just in Thunder Bay a week ago to outline the New Democrats youth strategy, and seniors strategy.
