GRANDE PORTAGE – The Gichigami Express Sled Dog Race needs volunteers! Bring your group, team, organization, or just yourself to a volunteer meeting! We need volunteers in many areas including: starting line, dog handlers, parking, timers, banquet set-up and clean-up, promotion, fundraising, and mush more!
The Gichigami Express will stop in three communities during the race: Grand Marais, Grand Portage, and Gunflint Trail. The race runs January 6-8, 2013; festivities will kick off in Grand Portage on January 5th with the pre-race vet check and banquet. The mushers and visitors will experience the hospitality of a different community each day. If you are interested in volunteering or just want to learn about the race, join us at one of the following volunteer meetings:
