Over the course of the past week, interest in online news and information in Northern Ontario has spiked. On NetNewsledger.com over the week there have been over 60,000 people visiting the website, they have viewed an average of 4.04 pages. Over 52,000 of those visitors have been unique visitors to the site.

During the busiest time frames, Brett our web-tech shares that the server CPU spiked at 254% but still kept chugging along – On Monday at times the site was slower to load than usual, but we were able to handle all of the traffic. Part of that was due to a shift in our hosting service, and an upgrade from a Virtual Dedicated Server to a Dedicated Server. Our team is convinced had we not done that in mid-May that it would have been very likely we would have see service interruptions on the site on Monday.
