NAPSCONSTANCE LAKE – Crimebeat – On January 26, 2012, the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service Organized Crime Unit along with NAPS Uniform members from the Constance Lake Detachment with assistance from the OPP North East Drug Unit and OPP Uniform members executed a warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Police seized various amounts of illegal drugs including Oxycodone, Marihuana, and Amphetamine, $2,485.00 in Canadian currency, various drug paraphernalia, along with three rifles and a shotgun.

Twenty-two (22) year-old Brian James Taylor and twenty (20) year-old Colleen Mary Margaret Sutherland, both of Constance Lake First Nation, have each been charged with one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, one count of Careless Storage of a Firearm, and three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Both Taylor and Sutherland were released on conditions and will appear in court on April 11, 2012 in Hearst, Ontario.
