Call-Out for local artists for the new Thunder Bay and District’s Superior North Emergency Medical Services

Marina Park ArtTHUNDER BAY – There is a Call-Out for local artists interested in creating art for the new Thunder Bay and District’s Superior North Emergency Medical Services (EMS) headquarters. The EMS are moving to a new, purpose-built facility located at 105 Junot Avenue South, the facility is currently under construction.. Canadian Artists and Artist-led teams are invited to submit Expressions of Interest to create site specific artwork for an area in front of the new building entrance.

Artists may submit a maximum of three (3) concepts for sculptural public art and its lighting. The artwork may be a singular piece, or a series of pieces, not exceeding a footprint of 3.4m long x 2m wide and 3.5m high. Innovative, creative and thought-provoking approaches are encouraged.

Guiding theme: The importance and relationship of time to human life and health.

Site Visit: Monday, October 24, 2011 @ 4:30 p.m. Artists are required to pre-register with the City’s Public Art Coordinator, and must wear safety equipment. Safety equipment will be on site in limited quantities, you are encouraged to bring your own. Meet in front of EMS building at 105 Junot Avenue South.
