Saturday Night Comes Alive in Thunder Bay

THUNDER BAY – Saturdays in Thunder Bay offer lots of options for those looking for fun or activity. Along Court Street today, the Ruttan Block is hosting an afternoon of holiday cheer from 1-4PM. Lori Paras from the Ruby MoonJanet from Spa Euphoria invites you to “Come enjoy the Holiday with the Ruttan Block family of businesses. Cookies, candy, antiques, collectibles, original art, great food and drink and the Slightly Off Broadway Carollers will be there to lift your spirits. Please come join us for an afternoon of Holiday cheer”.

If you keep your eyes focused on the Waterfront District, the Paramount Theatre is hosting “A Christmas to Remember” a holiday concert with Denise Krawczuk & Robert Perrier! The show gets underway at 8PM, and tickets are only $10.

At Tony and Adams tonight, make plans to attend the launch party for the 2011 Professionals of Thunder Bay calendar. Come support Big Brothers Big Sisters by coming by and purchasing a calendar for $10…it’s going to be a great party!

Moving over to Tonic on Memorial Drive, fashion will be the focus as the Urban Boutique will unveil the latest fashions with an energetic fashion show. This event will be live-streamed on NNL, but make sure you don’t miss out seeing the show live.

Earlier in the evening, on Walkover Street, Saalem Church is hosting their second annual Christmas Musical; an enchanting event every family should experience. With music, drama and just a “pinch” of good humour, this delightful musical will warm your heart and start your Christmas season off right.

Set in Victorian England, in a drab, dingy orphanage with no colour. No decorations. Not even a Christmas tree. The adventure begins. The orphans learn the true meaning of Christmas when an unexpected visitor arrives. The nativity scene comes alive in living colour but that doesn’t explain two babies in the manger.

If you can’t make tonight’s show at the church, you can go on Sunday.

Looking a little ahead, Do you know a student in medicine or other health care field who will be in Thunder Bay for the holidays?  The “Home for the Holidays” Health Care Student Reception will be held on Wed. Dec. 29th from 11 am – 1:30 pm in the Thunder Bay Regional Research Institute.  The reception is an opportunity for the students to network with local health care representatives about career opportunities, enjoy lunch and tour the Thunder Bay Regional Research Institute.

Please call or email to request an invitation.
