THUNDER BAY – The North Superior Workforce Planning Board, in partnership with the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce, Literacy Northwest, Ontario Literacy Coalition, and the Northwestern Ontario Associated Chambers of Commerce invite you to attend an evening with Dr. Rick Miner, author of “People Without Jobs, Jobs Without People: Ontario’s Labour Market Future.” Dr. Miner’s report shows that a huge portion of the province’s population in the years ahead will be simply unemployable, due to insufficient skills and education. This will leave employers struggling to fill vacant positions and create escalating social assistance costs for government.
Dr. Miner’s report constitutes a call to action for government, businesses, and educators to address this urgent problem.
