THUNDER BAY – The Councillor-at-Large field continues to grow. This morning Rebecca Johnson filed her nomination papers seeking re-election.

There are other names expected to file in short order. Over the past months, speculation has swirled around former Mayor and MP Ken Boshcoff. Today, Boshcoff has ended some of the speculation about his political future. The former Thunder Bay Rainy River MP will be seeking a return to City Council.

Boshcoff is not seeking the Mayor’s Chair, the long serving politician is seeking a return to Council as Councillor at Large.

Boshcoff will challenge incumbents Rebecca Johnson, Iain Angus, Larry Hebert and Aldo Ruberto. As well, other former Councillors Dick Waddington and Lawrence Timko are also seeking a return to Council.

Norm Staal, Sharon Ostberg, Cindy Crowe, Beatrice Metzler, Gerald Graham, Sydney Petit, and Darren Roberts.

For Boshcoff, the attempt to return to civic politics is not ending his dream of a return to Ottawa, as the Liberal nominee will continue his efforts to win the Thunder Bay Rainy River seat from incumbent John Rafferty.
