THUNDER BAY – Jean-Paul De Roover has announced his upcoming cross-Canada tour, as well as the subsequent release of his latest music video for the song “You”.  Tuesday, August 10th will be the tour kickoff as well as the exclusive video premiere, held at the Paramount Theatre (24 Court St S) starting promptly at 7:30 PM.

“This will be my third cross-Canada tour this year” says De Roover, “and I can’t wait to get back out on the road, showing the country what I’ve been working hard on for the last few months”.  This will include new material, new merchandise, a new website and of course the new video.

The music video was funded by the Ontario Arts Council, and shot exclusively in Thunder Bay.  “It was very important for us to make the video in the north” said Curtis Jensen, owner of Apple Wagon Films, “to show the rest of the country what we can accomplish in our region”.

The “You” music video is set in the first half of the last century, and tells a story of two young lovers that were separated by a tragic accident, but reunited in a most unusual way decades later.

The kickoff will feature a live performance by De Roover, followed by select screenings from his 2009 CD/DVD “Windows and Doors” including the previous music video for “Fix” (directed by Shannon Lepere and featured on MuchMusic and this upcoming Bay Street Film Festival), culminating in the first ever viewing of the new video for “You”, directed by Curtis Jensen of Apple Wagon Films.  For those interested in the making of music videos, and filmmaking in northern Ontario, a short Q&A session will be held immediately after the premiere with both Jensen and De Roover.

Stick around to meet some of the actors, crew and a very special guest!

The event is free for all ages, but donations are greatly appreciated.
