Team Venezuela Set for International Baseball

THUNDER BAY – The International Baseball Federation (IBAF) and the Thunder Bay International Baseball Association (TBIBA) have announced that Team Venezuela will participate in the 2010 IBAF World Junior Baseball Championship, now underway in Thunder Bay.
The announcement will have impacts on the existing schedule.  First, Italy will not be attending today’s 9:30 a.m. “Meet Team Italy” event.  Instead, Team Italy will play Venezuela (VZ) at 4:00 p.m. today at Baseball Central 2.

There will be no on field pre-game batting practice for Game 8: Team Czechoslovakia versus Team Panama at Baseball Central 1 at 4:30 or the re-scheduled Venezuela versus Italy game at 4:00pm at Baseball Central 2.

“While we regret any inconvenience to the fans, we are working hard to get the word out of the changes in the schedule”, said TBIBA Executive Director Warren Philp.

“We are at the same time pleased that we will be able to welcome Team Venezuela to this exciting competition”, he added.
