Sol Mamakwa MPP Invites Premier Ford to Visit Neskantaga

THUNDER BAY – Sol Mamakwa is the Ontario NDP critic for Indigenous Affairs, speaking on to NetNewsLedger on the 2020 Legislative Session, Mamakwa invited Ontario Premier Ford north to visit Neskantaga First Nation, to see for himself how the people live, the conditions in the community.

Neskantaga has been under a boil water advisory for 25 years.

The NDP MPP also talks about issues facing northern communities, including respect for traditional ceremonies, Internet access, and speed, and Northern Access during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sol was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in the 2018 provincial election. Mamakwa represents the riding of Kiiwetinoong as a member of the Ontario New Democratic Party. He is a member of the Kingfisher First Nation and speaks Oji-Cree as a first language.
