Police Seek Witnesses to Failure to Remain Accident

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Police are seeking assistance from the public to locate a motor vehicle and driver involved in a fail to remain collision involving a pedestrian.

On December 19th, 2018, at 11:45 pm, Thunder Bay Police responded to the intersection of John Street at Memorial Avenue for the report of a motor vehicle collision which had just occurred.

Police received information that a female pedestrian was walking southbound on Memorial Avenue crossing John Street, with the right of way, when a black 4 door car approached the intersection travelling eastbound on John Street.

The pedestrian reported that there were two males who were yelling at her from within the vehicle as they attempted to squeeze between the pedestrian and the curb to make a right turn, southbound onto Memorial Avenue. In the process of making the turn, the vehicle struck the pedestrian, knocking her to the ground. The vehicle did not stop and continued southbound on Memorial Avenue.

Thankfully the pedestrian suffered only minor physical injuries as a result of the collision.

The investigation is ongoing.
