Taking Back Downtown Peace Walk

THUNDER BAY – Getting the downtown Fort William neighbourhood moving forward is taking to the streets. Shelby Ch’ng shares “This is a walk to promote our community, promote the city’s respect campaign, and show respect for those who live and work in this community.  Racism is a huge negative contributor to our immediate economy.  This walk aims to bring people together… even if it is for one simple purpose … to walk”.

“Members of City Council, BIA, leaders in the community, area residents and many more have all been invited and welcome to attend”.

The Peace Walk is set to take place this:

Friday, Nov 22, 2013
5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
To start at City Hall and end at Paterson Park.

At 6PM as the Peace Walk winds down, the Fort William Business District and Victoriaville Centre are hosting the annual tree lighting ceremony at Paterson Park.

You are invited to sip apple cider courtesy of First Wesley United Church, and sing along with the Fort William Male Choir in some festive Christmas songs.

Then the fun continues in Victoriaville with the arrival of Santa Claus, and the music and cheer of the season.
