Nishnawbe Aski Police say incident involved four people and a knife

MOOSE FACTORY FIRST NATION — Two men have been arrested and charged following an aggravated assault investigation in Moose Factory, according to the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS).

Police say officers from the Moose Factory First Nation detachment were called on Monday, February 9, to a Pakeishimon Street residence regarding an assault that had recently occurred.

Police allege woman assaulted; altercation escalated among three men

NAPS say an altercation took place inside the home involving three males and one female, and that the female was assaulted. Police allege the confrontation continued among the three males.

A knife was used, police say, and two of the males were injured. Those two attended hospital for evaluation and treatment and were later released.

Charges laid; one accused released on conditions, one held in custody

NAPS say their Crime Unit became involved as the investigation continued and identified two suspects. Both were arrested without incident.

Wayne Hester, 26, of Moose Factory, is charged with:

  • Assault

  • Assault with a Weapon

Police say he appeared for a bail hearing on Wednesday, February 11, and was released with conditions, with a future court appearance scheduled.

Mark Kien Douglas Isaac, 24, of Moose Factory First Nation, is charged with:

  • Assault

  • Aggravated Assault

Police say he appeared for a bail hearing on Thursday, February 12, and was remanded into custody, with a future court appearance date set.

Investigation ongoing

NAPS say the investigation remains ongoing.
