Thunder Bay – NEWS – Police were kept busy overnight, first with a security issue at the Thunder Bay International Airport. The Airport reported on social media, “A SecurIty threat was reported at Thunder Bay Airport at approximately 4:15 pm on October 30, 2025. As a precaution, the main terminal building was evacuated while law enforcement and airport security are conducting a thorough investigation.”

“Safety remains our top priority. Currently, the situation is ongoing, and we ask the public to avoid going to the terminal building at this time.”

After the evacuation, the TBIAA then shared, ”

We can confirm that the security situation at Thunder Bay Airport has been resolved and we were given the all clear. Law enforcement and airport security have completed their investigation, and the terminal building has been deemed safe”. Normal operations are resuming. We thank passengers, staff, and the public for their patience and cooperation during this time”.
Then later in the evening, Thunder Bay responded to an incident call on the 100 block of College Street. There Police remain on the scene, with the forensic unit having gathered evidence.
Police asked in a media release to have the public avoid the area, and that more details would be forthcoming.
There has been a great deal of online speculation, NetNewsLedger is awaiting facts before adding to the confusion over this incident.
