THUNDER BAY – NEWS – An arrest has been made in a firearms incident on May Street South.

Thunder Bay Police Service has made an arrest following continued investigation into a firearms-related incident on September 25, 2025.

Shawn HENDERSON, 48, of Thunder Bay is charged with:
• Attempt to commit murder using firearm
• Discharge firearm with Intent
• Careless use of a Firearm
• Pointing Firearm
• Carrying Concealed Weapon
• Unauthorized possession of firearm
• Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
• Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

What happened?

Thunder Bay Police Service Primary Response officers were dispatched to the area of May and Bethune Streets shortly after 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 25 after receiving a report of a weapons incident. No one was injured in the incident.

HENDERSON appeared in court on October 9, 2025 and was remanded to custody.
