Dangerous and Potentially Life-Threatening Tornado Situation Unfolding
Environment Canada has issued a Tornado Warning for Atikokan, Shebandowan, and Quetico Park, as of 10:56 AM EDT. A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado is tracking through the region at 70 km/h, and poses a significant risk to life and property.
⚠️ Emergency Management Ontario urges everyone in the affected areas to seek immediate shelter.
⚠️ Tornado warnings are issued when a tornado is imminent or occurring.

IMMEDIATELY take shelter in a sturdy building, on the lowest level, away from windows and exterior walls.

Go to a basement, interior bathroom, stairwell or closet.

DO NOT stay in vehicles, mobile homes, tents, or trailers.

If caught outside, lie flat in a low-lying area and protect your head from flying debris.
