AtkinsRéalis has over 70 years of global nuclear expertise, delivering nuclear technology products and full-service solutions to nuclear utilities around the world. AtkinsRéalis is the steward of CANDU® nuclear technology, operating on four continents, and provides advisory and engineering services to other nuclear developers. With an innovative technology portfolio, including access to over 500 patented solutions, AtkinsRéalis solves technically complex challenges across the whole nuclear lifecycle from design and new build through asset management and from life extension and late life management through decommissioning and waste management. AtkinsRéalis operates and manages government nuclear research sites, transforming ageing infrastructure and safely managing legacy nuclear waste. AtkinsRéalis’ CANDU technology also allows for the co-production of medical radioisotopes for cancer detection and treatment. The company also supports cancer treatment through its partnership with TerraPower to extract isotopes from legacy nuclear material. Learn more on our Nuclear market page.

Why Nuclear?

Canada will need to triple its power production level over the next 30 years. Nuclear has a large part to play in that. Clean, low-carbon nuclear power has the lasting potential to break the world’s reliance on less sustainable alternatives and has the capacity to generate consistent sources of baseline power, which intermittent renewable sources can’t.

The growing demand for baseline power production has a massive impact (and opportunity) on employment. Candu Energy relies on a specialized workforce that’s drastically growing to serve critical projects across Canada and export to the world. We are committed to building the talent required to execute industry needs.

In our Nuclear Team, you would be part of the team that:

  • Works with the latest technologies
  • Creates more sustainable energy solutions
  • Collaborates with over 3,000 skilled experts
  • Delivers end-to-end project solutions and supports all stages of the asset lifecycle

Employment Conditions:

  • Internships are coordinated by Warrior Engineering
  • 5 hours per week with flexible start times.
  • Hybrid work conditions – 3 days in office and 2 days from home
  • Condition of hire- pass AtkinsRéalis security clearance.
  • 1 hour per week of mentoring from Warrior Engineering

What’s in it for you?

  • The opportunity to work on a major project;
  • A wide array of learning and development opportunities;
  • Paid internship; and
  • An exciting work environment focused on health and safety.
  • Professional development, mentorship, and developing a professional network.
