Investigation by BEAR Unit leads to the apprehension of a suspect carrying a concealed imitation firearm

Thunder Bay, ON – A 41-year-old Thunder Bay man faces multiple charges after being found in possession of a concealed replica handgun during his arrest for theft.

The Thunder Bay Police Service’s Break and Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit was conducting surveillance on the 1300 block of Arthur Street East on the evening of Wednesday, November 27, when officers observed a theft taking place.

The suspect was swiftly apprehended, and during a subsequent search, officers discovered the concealed imitation firearm.

Robert Jordan CAUL, 41, of Thunder Bay, has been charged with:

  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

CAUL appeared in court on Thursday and remains in custody, pending a future court date.
