Outdoor Burning: Follow Ontario Regulations

As we transition into fall, the Aviation, Forest Fire, and Emergency Services remind residents to practice caution when performing outdoor burning. Where possible, opt for composting or use your local landfill to dispose of yard waste and woody debris. If burning is necessary, adhere to Ontario’s strict outdoor burning guidelines:

  • Fires should be ignited no sooner than two hours before sunset and fully extinguished no later than two hours after sunrise.
  • Have proper tools and water on hand to manage the fire at all times.

For a full set of safety regulations, consult Ontario’s Outdoor Burning Regulations and learn how to burn grass and woody debris safely.
