Thunder Bay – The Stanley Cup is making its way back to Thunder Bay, courtesy of 2023-2024 Stanley Cup Champion Jamie Kompon, Assistant Coach of the Florida Panthers. Kompon will host a special community event, offering locals the chance to see and take photos with hockey’s most iconic trophy.

The event will take place on Wednesday, September 11, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Port Arthur Stadium.

This free event is open to the public, with doors opening at 2:30 p.m. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the celebration will move to the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium.

“It’s a true honour to bring the Stanley Cup home to Thunder Bay, a community that played such a big role in my development,” said Kompon.

This marks the third time Kompon has won the Stanley Cup, previously with the Los Angeles Kings in 2012 and the Chicago Blackhawks in 2013.

Donations for the Northern Cancer Fund will be accepted during the event.
