Investigation Spanning 17 Years Unearths Disturbing Sexual Assault Incidents

Thunder Bay, ON – The Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) is delving into an alarming historic sexual assault case that spans across a 17-year period, from 1995 to 2012. Authorities are now extending an appeal to the public for any information that could help identify other potential victims tied to this disquieting investigation.

Investigation Details (Case Number: P22029484): The focal point of this investigation revolves around a series of alleged sexual assaults that transpired at various residential locations within the city of Thunder Bay.

Two victims have so far been identified, both of whom were acquainted with the accused before the alleged assaults took place. Perturbingly, both victims were minors under the age of 16 at the time of the incidents.

Accused Individual: The accused, 64-year-old Francesco Anselmo of Thunder Bay, faces serious charges including:

  • Sexual Assault (2 counts)
  • Sexual Interference (2 counts)
  • Invitation to Sexual Touching (2 counts)
  • Sexual Exploitation (4 counts)

Following the charges, Anselmo has been released from custody under certain conditions, pending a future court appearance.
