Miles Street Homicide Update – John Mark REUBEN Victim Identified

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – A post-mortem examination of the victim of a recent homicide has concluded, and the Miles Street scene has been released by police.

Police were originally dispatched on Friday June 24, 2022, just after 2:45 am to a residence in the 900 block of Miles Street East. When officers arrived, they located a deceased male. The victim was later identified as John Mark REUBEN, 28, of Thunder Bay.

The investigation remains ongoing.

This was Thunder Bay’s 7th homicide of 2022.

The Thunder Bay Police Service is currently investigating a homicide that occurred in the area of Miles Street East.

On Friday June 24, 2022, just after 2:45 a.m., police officers with the Primary Response Unit responded to a weapons call at a residence in the 900 block of Miles Street East.

A deceased adult male was located at this residence. As a result, Joseph HUBBARD, 24, of Thunder Bay, was arrested at the scene by the responding officers.

He is now charged with Second-Degree Murder and is expected to appear in bail court today – June 24, 2022.

The identity of the deceased male is not being released pending next of kin notification.

Members of the Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Units are now involved in the ongoing investigation.

A post-mortem examination will be scheduled. The investigation remains ongoing.
