Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Sandy Lake – Pikangikum – Deer Lake

SANDY LAKE – WEATHER – At 4:57 a.m. CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.

This line of severe thunderstorms is located from 15 kilometres northeast of Palsen Lake to 25 kilometres west of Pauingassi, moving northeast at 50 km/h.

Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for:

  • Pikangikum – Poplar Hill – MacDowell
  • Sandy Lake – Weagamow Lake – Deer Lake

Hazard: Nickel size hail.

Locations impacted include: Meandrine Lake, Cherrington Lake, Old Shoes Lake and Deer Lake.
