First At-Large Candidate Declares

THUNDER BAY – POLITICS – The second candidate to declare for Councillor at Large has put their name forward. Iqbal Khan has filed papers with the City Clerk’s office marking his intention to run for one of the five at-large seats. Kasey (Taylor) Etreni filed papers first in the at-large category.

So far there is one candidate for Mayor, Gary Mack. Three candidates have filed in Northwood ward, and one candidate in Red River Ward.

Brian Hamilton is the only incumbent candidate so far to file papers seeking re-election. Hamilton is the McKellar Ward candidate and he is being challenged by Lori Paras who ran at-large in 2018.

Cody Fraser in Neebing has stated he is not seeking re-election in the ward.

Paras will host a campaign kick-off on Wednesday at 507 Victoria Avenue from 5-7 pm.
