However, even with doses far below the lethal dose of neonics, a strong and growing body of science shows that these pesticides contribute to impairment in bee reproduction, learning, memory, hive communications and immune response. In Gardeners Beware 2014, all garden plant samples where neonics were detected have the potential to harm or even kill bees.

THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – There are no weather warnings or alerts in effect.

The Lakehead Region Conservation Authority has ended the Flood Warning for the Thunder Bay region. There are still many roads across the region impacted by flooding and washouts.

In the City of Thunder Bay, the roads crews are out sweeping up a winter’s worth of grime and potholes and sinkholes are an issue. Drive with care.

There are parts of Canada that the Weather Network is saying will likely receive, wait for it… snow .. by the weekend. While parts of our region are included in that forecast, there is nothing solid to report yet.

Remember, NO MOW MAY to let pollinators thrive.

Thunder Bay

Slightly on the cooler side this morning in Thunder Bay it is +1 at 07:00 am. We are headed to a high of 16 for Tuesday under mainly clear skies.

The UV index will be 7 or high.

Tonight will see a few clouds in the evening with more clouds by midnight. Overnight low of +2.

Fort Frances

It is right at the freezing mark in Fort Frances this morning. The high for Tuesday will be +18 under clear and sunny skies.

The UV index will be 7 or High.

Tonight will see clouds rolling in with a 40 per cent chance of flurries overnight, the low will be 18.

Dryden and Vermilion Bay

It is +1 this morning at 06:00 am CDT in Dryden heading to a high of 15. Skies will be clear and sunny through the day.

The UV Index will be 7 or high.

It will become cloudy this evening along with a 40 per cent chance of precipitation. The overnight low will be 7.

Sachigo Lake

It is -2 in Sachigo Lake this morning. The high for Tuesday will be 13 under a mix of sun and cloud. Winds will be light at up to 15 kmh.

The UV index will be 7 or high.

Tonight will see clearing skies with continued light winds. The low overnight will be -3 with the wind chill at -7.
