RED LAKE – NEWS – The Municipality of Red Lake has declared a State of Emergency due to Flooding Activity.

Mayor and Council have declared a State of Emergency in Red Lake at 11:23 am local time on Tuesday, May 10th, 2022 due to flooding activities in various areas throughout the Municipality of Red Lake.

Red Lake in a media release says, “The purpose of this emergency declaration is to create public awareness and to ensure these events are acknowledged and recognized by the provincial and/or federal levels of government.

“In addition, this declaration may provide funding recovery opportunities for costs incurred by the Municipality as a result of any damage caused by these events”.

“We will continue to monitor the situation in Red Lake and will continue to keep the public informed of any updates via the Municipality of Red Lake’s website, Facebook page and Emergency Alerts, if deemed necessary”.
