Thunder Bay – News – UPDATED – Crews from Enbridge are remaining on site after an apparent gas leak earlier this morning caused the evacuation briefly of the Home Hardware location on Memorial Avenue.

There is construction ongoing on the Northside of the Home Hardware.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to the corner of Memorial Avenue and 11 Avenue for a Gas line break at a nearby business.

A section of 11th Ave between Memorial Ave. and Eira St. was blocked off to traffic for a short time as well as a nearby building being evacuated as a precaution till Enbridge gas mitigated the danger.

Utility locator vehicles and several crews from Enbridge are still on scene as of 2:30 PM.

The Home Hardware centre is open for business.
