Weather Update – EXTREME COLD Weather Warnings for Western Ontario

Thunder Bay – WEATHER – The mercury is going to be looking for the bottom of the thermometer for the next few days across Western Ontario.

Environment Canada says that a cold arctic airmass will give frigid temperatures to portions of the region tonight into Wednesday morning. Temperatures in the minus thirties along with winds of 5 to 10 km/h will result in wind chill values near minus 40.

The frigid temperatures are also extended west into all of Southern Manitoba.

Extreme Cold Warning in effect for:

  • Fort Frances – Emo – Rainy River
  • Seine River Village – Mine Centre
  • Atikokan – Shebandowan – Quetico Park
  • Dryden – Vermilion Bay
  • Ignace – English River
  • Savant Lake – Sturgeon Lake
  • Sioux Lookout – Eastern Lac Seul

Extreme wind chill values near minus 40 are expected tonight into Wednesday morning. It is possible the weather will see similar temperatures and wind chills like this extend from Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
