Police Say Overnight Standoff Now Over

THUNDER BAY – Police are reporting that an incident that started last night is now resolved. TBPS says that officers responded to a report of an unwanted adult male just after 8:00 pm on Friday night.  Police say the incident happened on Central Avenue.

Police officers and the Tactical Unit contained the scene and an incident command was established which included negotiators.  Public safety was maintained at all times during the response to this incident.

The male, who was in crisis, was taken into custody just before 6:00 am this morning.  The male is facing a charge of Breach of a Court Order.  Due to the domestic nature of this incident, the name of the individual will not be released.
