Temperatures Will Moderate Friday

WASHAHO CREE Nation – WEATHER –  10:30 Weather Alert over – The far north remains in an Arctic grip for now but slightly less frigid weather is on the way.

For Washaho Cree Nation, Environment Canada says to expect increasing cloudiness through Friday with snow and local blowing snow beginning late this afternoon. The winds will become south 30 km/h gusting to 50 this morning. Friday’s high is forecast for minus 20. The wind chill will make it feel like minus 50 this morning and minus 33 this afternoon.

  • Fort Severn – Washaho Cree Nation
  • Peawanuck
  • Attawapiskat
  • Big Trout Lake – Kasabonika
  • Sachigo Lake – Bearskin Lake
  • Fort Hope – Lansdowne House – Ogoki
  • Webequie

Bitterly cold wind chills near minus 45 are expected into this morning.

Temperatures should rise on Friday morning.
