Thunder Bay Police Arrest Suspects in Thai Restaurant Break-in

THUNDER BAY – A pair of arrests by Thunder Bay Police Service following their ongoing investigation of a robbery at the Thai Kitchen on Cumberland Street North that occurred on January 5, 2020.

Officers from the Uniform Patrol Branch were dispatched to Cumberland Street North following reports of a break and enter in progress just after midnight on Sunday, January 5, 2020.

When police arrived to the Thai Kitchen restaurant they observed three suspects inside. They were identified and arrested without further incident.

An investigation revealed the three suspects had entered the restaurant by forced entry after it had closed. Further investigation led officers to discover that one of the suspects had provided a false identity.

Annika Rose GEORGE, 21, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Breaking and Entering with Intent and Obstruct Peace Officer.

Christopher Tyrone OOMBASH, 34, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Breaking and Entering and Committing, and Breaking and Entering with Intent.

Paul Winnifred VIVIER, 29, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Breaking and Entering with Intent, Possession of Break-in Instruments, and Failing to Comply with a Court Order.

All three appeared in bail court Sunday, January 5, 2020, and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates. None of the charges have been proven in court.
