THUNDER BAY – Police in Thunder Bay have charged a 25-year-old man with child pornography charges.

The arrest made on October 9, 2019, comes as a result of an ongoing and continuing investigation relating to child pornography.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Cyber Crimes Unit began an investigation in early September involving a local man believed to be in possession of child pornography.

Through the course of their investigation officers identified a suspect and confirmed they had uploaded material consistent with child pornography. Police executed a search warrant on an apartment in the 900 block of John Street in the morning hours of Wednesday, Oct. 9. During that search, the accused was arrested, and a number of devices were seized by police.

Dakota MOSKOTAYWENENE, 25, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Possession of Child Pornography. He appeared in court Thursday morning and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.

The investigation is ongoing. None of the charges have been proven in court.
