Assault at District Jail Sends 25-Year-Old Man to Hospital

THUNDER BAY – UPDATED – NEWS – The Thunder Bay Police Service are investigating an assault that took place at the Thunder Bay District Jail on Wednesday afternoon.

Police was dispatched to the District Jail at 285 MacDougall Street shortly after 3 pm on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, following reports of an incident that required police involvement.

Police discovered that a 25-year-old male was injured as the result of an assault.

The victim was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for treatment of his injuries. The victim is reported in Critical Condition.

Officers with the service’s Criminal Investigation Branch are now investigating this incident as an aggravated assault.
