August 26, 2019 – Rainfall Warning issued for Dryden – Kenora – Fort Frances

DRYDEN – It is going to get wet for Monday. Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Dryden, Kenora, Fort Frances regions of Northwestern Ontario.

Rainfall warning in effect for:

  • Kenora – Grassy Narrows – Whitedog
  • Sioux Narrows – Nestor Falls – Morson
  • Dryden – Vermilion Bay
  • Fort Frances

Rain, at times heavy, is expected.

Rain at times heavy, and possible thunderstorms producing significant rainfall amounts expected today through Tuesday.

Total amounts near 50 mm are expected, with locally higher amounts in embedded thunderstorms. The heaviest rain will occur tonight into Tuesday, and will taper to light showers late Tuesday and continue through Wednesday.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
