Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for:

  • Dryden – Vermilion Bay
  • Ignace – English River

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail.

Thunderstorms are forecast to develop late this afternoon into early this evening. The main concern with these thunderstorms will be strong wind gusts to 90 km/h and hail at least 2 cm in diameter.

Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
