Thunder Bay Border Cats Set to ‘Play Ball’

Thunder Bay – The Thunder Bay Border Cats 2019 Northwoods League roster continues to take shape in preparation for the home opener this coming Tuesday, May 28, at 7:05 pm against the Duluth Huskies at Port Arthur Stadium. So far it is looking like Environment Canada is helping out. The forecast for Tuesday is calling for a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 18.

Manager Eric Vasquez has signed pitcher Peyton Burks (University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff), pitcher Austin Breazeale (Gateway Community College), pitcher Tyler Hansen (Gateway Community College), pitcher Logan Hooley (Colorado Northwestern Community College), pitcher Staley Hangsen (Colorado Northwestern Community College), pitcher Carlos Lequerica (Bethune-Cookman University), pitcher Aaron Kern (Minot State University), and pitcher Lucas Reid (Sacramento City College).

In addition, the Cats have signed catcher Alex Hernandez (Nova Southeastern University) and pitcher Tanner Bercier (Frank Phillips College).  Bercier, who plays his collegiate baseball in Texas, is a native of La Salle, Manitoba.

Thunder Bay’s roster now consists of 27 players, including five who are on temporary contracts.

Border Cats single-game tickets, 10-game flex packs and season ticket subscriptions are now on sale at the Stadium Box Office.
