Tip leads Armstrong OPP to Arrest Impaired Driver

ARMSTRONG – CRIME – On May 19, 2019, at approximately 5:26 pm, officers from the Armstrong Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were advised of a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver in Armstrong.

Officers located the vehicle, spoke with the driver and determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further tests.

Curtis WABASON, 30 years of age, from Armstrong, was arrested and charged with:

-Fail or Refuse to Comply with Demand contrary to section 320.15(1) of the Criminal Code,

-Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking contrary to section 145(5.1) of the Criminal Code.

The accused is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Armstrong on June 11, 2019 to answer to the charges.

The public are encouraged to call 911 or contact police at 1-888-310-1122 whenever suspecting that a driver is impaired.
