COOK COUNTY – WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 AM CDT THURSDAY…

COOK COUNTY – Heavy snow is expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches, except 6 to 10 inches along the higher terrain surrounding Lake Superior.

The area of the storm includes Wisconsin, Douglas and Bayfield Counties.

In Minnesota, Northern Cook and Lake, Southern Lake, Southern Cook and Carlton and South St. Louis Counties.

The weather warning is in effect from 7 PM this evening to 10 AM CDT Thursday.

Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. There may be power outages due to the wet and heavy nature of the snow.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet and ice will make travel very hazardous or impossible. The latest road conditions for Minnesota can be found at 511mn.org, and for Wisconsin at 511wi.gov, or by calling 511 in either state.
