FORT FRANCES – The Rainy River District Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to invite the public to come out and support efforts to fill the local food banks by participating in the annual Stuff a Cruiser event.

The event is scheduled for December 8, 2018, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at various locations across the district including Canada Safeway, The Place Fine Foods, and Walmart in Fort Frances, Beaver Mills Market in Rainy River, and Cloverleaf Grocery in Emo. Members of various agencies including OPP, MNRF (Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry), CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency), CN Police, and the Treaty Three Police Service will be in attendance to accept your donation, whether it is one item or a cart full.

Any amount that you donate will help families in need.

This year the food banks are hoping that individuals will donate more meat and sources of protein to the banks. A full list of items needed can be found at www.CelebratingDiversity.ca.

The organizers of this year’s event are still looking for volunteers to assist in collecting items. If you are interested in volunteering, you may sign up at www.CelebratingDiversity.ca, and you may sign up for as long as you wish, at whichever location you wish.

Come out and make our day a success. Let’s fight hunger together in the Rainy River District.
