THUNDER BAY – Walmart Canada recently revised their shipping rates to northern communities. Rates spiked to a flat rate of $250 per order. This led to NetNewsLedger readers contacting us.
NetNewsLedger reached out to Walmart Canada and asked about the new rates.
Walmart Canada says, “We have received feedback regarding some changes to our shipping fees and appreciate hearing from our customers. While the new rates do, on average, reflect the cost of shipping items that weigh more, these rates become less favourable for smaller items. We take our customers’ feedback seriously and will take some time to re-evaluate these fees. In the meantime, effective Wednesday, Walmart Canada shipping fees will return to previous rates until further notice.”
Under the new rates, small orders would have required $250 for shipping. However large orders would have the same rate.
