Youth Faces Seven Charges After Family Dispute

Thunder Bay Police Service Unit 200THUNDER BAY – A 15-year-old male appeared in court this morning on a number of charges after being arrested on Dawson Road around 5:00 p.m. on October 11, 2018.

Thunder Bay Police say that “A dispute at a family home resulted in a youth threatening his parent and taking a vehicle to leave the area”.

Patrol officers located the youth parked in the driveway at the Emerald Greens Golf Course.

Multiple police vehicles were positioned to block in this vehicle. The youth rammed the police vehicles several times before being pinned up against a trailer in the parking lot.

Police state that their initial attempts to have him exit the vehicle were unsuccessful.

The TBPS Tactical Unit arrived and was successful in negotiating him to surrender. There were no injuries in this incident.

The 15-year-old youth has been charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Mischief Under $5000
  • Take Motor Vehicle without Consent
  • Utter Threats
  • Forcible Confinement
  • Resist Arrest
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

He was remanded into custody.
