THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Police report that on Sunday, September 23rd, 2018, at approximately 6:50 pm, Thunder Bay Police were responding to an emergency call for service in the south end of the city. A police vehicle was traveling southbound on May Street with the emergency equipment activated. As the police vehicle was traveling through the intersection of Southern Avenue, a Hyundai Santa Fe turned left, to travel eastbound onto Southern Avenue, in front of the police vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.

The public is reminded to be aware of all traffic around them, including vehicles approaching from behind. When an emergency vehicle is approaching from any direction with the emergency equipment activated, all drivers must pull to the right and bring their vehicle to a stop, ensuring they are not blocking an intersection.
