OPP assisting Treaty Three Police in Suspicious Death Investigation

FORT FRANCES – Treaty Three Police have sought the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police in the death of a man in Treaty Three. The North West Region Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit, OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), the Office of the Chief Coroner and Forensic Pathology Service (OCC-OFPS) are assisting Treaty Three Police Service with a suspicious death investigation.

The investigation is in the early stages and is currently being conducted under the direction of Detective Inspector Darryl SIGOUIN of the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).

Stacy COMEGAN (26 years old) of Big Grassy River First Nation has been arrested and charged with Indignity to a dead body contrary to Section 182(b) of the Criminal Code.

He was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on September 4, 2018, to answer to the charge.
