THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – The hot weather will continue into today, with a forecast break coming on Tuesday. The hot weather has impacted the woodlands with more wildfires being discovered.

Heat Warning in effect for:

  • City of Thunder Bay

The heat event will continue today.

The hot and humid air mass will remain over the area today. Daytime maximum temperatures will be near 30 degrees with humidex values reaching the high thirties.

Cooler temperatures and lower humidity are expected by Tuesday with the passage of a cold front.

Extreme heat affects everyone.

Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place.

Check on older family, friends and neighbours. Make sure they are cool and drinking water

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.

Watch for the symptoms of heat illness: dizziness/fainting; nausea/vomiting; rapid breathing and heartbeat; extreme thirst; decreased urination with unusually dark urine.
